my turn..

So I finally am feeling well since my surgery. Let me tell you, getting your tonsils out is not fun at all. Especially when the pain medication makes me throw up. :( But life was awesome before I had to go through all this torture...
Like Rondi said, we went to Idaho for our cousin Lindy's wedding and got to spend time with Shera and her family along with our other family. It was great!

Then after MUCH anticipation, the road to graduation started. The start off the trail to victory was Seminary Graduation. I was asked to put together a musical number for the meeting so me and seven of my friends from the stake sang. Much thanks to my friend Greg for suggesting me for that... But I'll admit, it wasn't all that bad.

Then, the next weekend was the Senior Dinner Dance. All my girls and I got together and went to this lovely event. Minus the instant mashed potatoes, cheesecake the size of my middle finger and a student's iPod as our DJ...it was pretty fun. I wore one of my moms dresses from her youth.

Then just a few days after that, I checked out at school. We signed yearbooks, said our goodbyes and picked up our cap and gowns. I'll miss it, but it sure felt good to walk away knowing i'd never have to go to school there again. Finally Thursday May 28th came and it was time to graduate! I started off the day with a nice breakfast with my friends Sara, Lindsey and Jessica and Magelby's Fresh.

Then we went over to the David O. Mckay Events Center for graduation rehearsal, spent the rest of the day getting ready, and finally, headed back over there for the real thing. It was great walking down that red carpet as my name was called and pictures of me flashed on the screen. Finally, the moment I had been waiting for...Congratulations Class of 2008..."WE DID IT!!!"

After the big event and plenty of pictures, a bunch of friends and I headed over to Tepanyaki for a celebration dinner! We all loved it, the boys and their shrimp catching contests and us girls and our beauty. haha. Then we changed and headed back to the school for the Senior All Night Party! This was a blast! We had big blow up toys, twister, karaoke, a spa, lots of food, bingo, a hypnotist, and more! It was a great way to end high school.

So now it's all over. Time for the big stuff...Almost. As for now, Summer is here and now that I am finall recovered I am ready for the fun!

much love, emmyj

Old news is still good news, right?

Apparently I was not cut out for this blogging business. In an attempt to redeem myself I will update you on a few things that have been going on...

Our cousin Lindey got married in Idaho at the beginning of May. It was so fun to see our cousins that we had not seen in a while and of course it was great to see Shera and Clint and the kids. We even made Shera ditch the kids one night and we went to a movie!
A few weeks ago I ran the Ogden half marathon. It was my second half marathon and hopefully not my last... My good friend Jenny Capell and her friend Kellie ran with me. Ogden canyon is so pretty!

The night after the race, my lovely roommates and friends and I went to the Cheesecake Factory in Salt Lake. It was delicious!
Unfortunately I left my watch there, so I had to go back up two days later with Emmy and the parents. It was really upsetting to eat there again...

For Memorial weekend I went with mom and dad to Vegas to see Kris and Leslie and the girls. The weather was cold but we really had a good time shopping and just hanging out! On the way home we stopped in St. George where my sister-in-law Heather's parents cooked us a wonderful dinner!

As many of you know, Emmy graduated from high school last week! I can't believe that she is out, and going to college in 3 months! Time goes by too fast! Because Emmy and I were the only family around to celebrate the graduation, my parents treated us to an amazing dinner at the Sundance Tree Room. Emmy and I both got the Buffalo steak and it was SO good!!! I had never had buffalo before but I loved it!
Emmy got her tonsils out yesterday so I will let her blog about the rest of graduation when she is feeling up to it!

This past Saturday, Emmy and I went to the Superbike World Championship at the Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele. It is a really cool track and it was so fun to see such a big event there. My very good friends Lance and Natalie own a motorcycle shop called Obsession Motoworx and they were up there promoting their shop so we went to support them! This event was the biggest that Utah has had next to the Olympics! People came from all over the world.

There has been a lot going on, but I will try to be better at posting so I don't make the posts so long! I hope all is well with each of you!

Rise and shout, the Cougars are out....

Yep, it's official...

I am going to be joining the zoobies on the hill this fall.

There is no turning back now...I have a place to live.

August 27th I will be moving into Heleman Halls.

It is crazy to think I will be moving out. I've never shared a room or a bathroom, being the abandonned youngest child that I am. But I am excited! I have been emailing my soon-to-be roomate and she seems way cool! She is from Elko, Nevada... CRAZY!!

Here I go...starting my future.

emilia true blue jenson

Dancing in the Moonlight!

Ok ok, so I am working on the catch up...
Next on the list...

MY SENIOR PROM!!! woo.

So I went with Scott Frandsen. He's a cutie. He asked me using a build a bear. So Cute!!! It's a dog dressed in a tux. When you squeeze it's hand it says "Emmy, will you go to the Prom with me?." I love it. I answered him by putting together a 300 piece puzzle, turning it over and writing on it. Then I took it apart, had 300 plastic easter eggs and put one piece in each egg. I made an easter basket for him with candy and an easter bunny and put it in his room, scattering the other ton of eggs all over his floor! It was so funny!

Ok, so for Prom, they picked us up and took us to get massages. I know great right? I definitely loved that. Then we went and ate lunch and played games. After that they dropped us off. I had enough time to take a nap which I loved! Then I got ready, and as it tends to be, panicked a little with the time. Rondi was a life saver and helped me with my hair, makeup, dress, jewlery and all other things. I don't know what I would do without her! Thanks so much!

Then Scott came to pick me up. We took lots of pictures at my house then went down to Adam Law's house andtook more. After that we headed to Chef's Table for our lovely meal. When dinner was finished, we went down to the dance which was at the Provo Library. We took more pictures then waited in line for the Promenade.
In our group was Scott and I, Adam and Cami, Downing and Jessie, Andy and Ashly, Willie and Katelin, Morgan and Karissa, and Tanner and Heidi. I loved out group! We all were so fun!

Check out Scotts shoes...and the car...

After coming down the grand stairs into the crowd of people, we talked to our families and friends and took even more pictures. Then we headed back upstairs to the dance. The dance was so much fun! Our whole group did our thing out there on the floor. We loved it. Our theme this year was "Dancing in the Moonlight" so that was fun.

I even made Kyson (my Prom date last year) take a picture with me!

After the dance we changed then went back down to Adam's house and watching Ferris Bueller's Day Off in the gym on love sacs.Prom was so much fun and I loved it! I can't believe it is over! I will never go to another High School dance...I can't believe that. I have to admit I will miss them and all the drama. Graduation is just around the corner. I don't know how I got this all this fast, but its all right here!!

more later... love emmy.

CANCUN!!!!

yep, it has been THIS long since we have posted anything...give us a break...we're young and hot...haha.

ok so... first... we recently took a FANTASTIC trip to the lovely city of Cancun in Quintana Roo, Mexico! Actually, technically we were in Puerto Morelos, which is just south of Cancun, much more secluded and still gorgeous.

We spent the whole first day waiting in lines...no joke. Gotta love airports. One highlight of the day, when we were in line at security at the SLC Airport, we happened to see Coach Lon Kruger of the UNLV Basketball team. I iniated a conversation (apparently I get it from Merrill, suprised anyone?) Even though I don't love the Rebels, he was so nice and I have a lot of respect for him.

We loved the weather when we finally got out of the Cancun airport. We were so excited to get to our hotel, even if we had to drive through the ghetto to get there. We stayed at the Hotel Marina El Cid. It was an All-Inclusive resort, all our food, fun and virgin Pina Coladas were included right there. It was gorgeous. The view from our room definitely wasn't bad either.

We woke up every morning, walked a few yards to our spot under a Palapa on the beach and laid there all day. Of course alloting time for breakfast and lunch, various activites and time in the ocean. We all slept a lot, read a lot, and got a lot of sun. At the end of the day we would all shower, longer than we should, and get ready (ok only halfway get ready...who needs makeup?) . We would then go down to dinner wherever we had reservations for the night. After that, we would probably go to one of the very nice entertainment shows they had.

We did so much while we were there...

relaxed in the spa

loved the ocean
played with iguanas

went to the ruins in TULUM

partied!

visited playa del carmen (a nearby city)

went snorkeling...and almost died

met some nice latin boys...
don't worry, we didn't attend any of the clubs we were invited to or visit any of the houses we were also invited to...

Overall the trip was awesome. Minus the couple fights and illnesses, we did great.
Some other highlights of the trip include:

a bike ride into the local city
trying to watch the sunrise
diet cokes with lime on the beach
coconut ice cream to die for
jumping off the cliff in the pool
the slide in the pool
morning sretching on the beach
not playing volleyball
our mini rental car
giving tips to our waiters
when the snorkel trip ended
when daddy wasn't ill
being warm
bargaining so well with the locals
making sure our dog Cobi was safe at home
and much MUCH more!!

On the way home, we had a three hour layover in Dallas and were lucky enough to spend time with our sister Sonja, her husband, our three nieces and one nephew! We ate lunch in the Rainforest Cafe and celebrated our nephew Jenson's birthday! It was so fun to see them since we rarely get to! We love out Texas family!

Thanks to our parents for taking us on this lovely vacation!
We miss Mexico...

loves, em.

Grettings from W459 :)

Well, I now realize that naming our blog ER may have been a bit of a jinx, but a blog named RE would just be... REtarded. I guess Emmy just wanted to make the ER official so she "took ill" and has spent the last 3 days in the hospital. Emmy's tonsils have always given her serious issues and over the past week they have taken over. Picture two golf balls at the back of her throat. Seriously. Huge and white. Really gross. Be glad I did not post a picture! On Sunday after a visit to the Dr. she was sent to the hospital for treatment. So she has been hooked up to IV antibiotics and occasionally morphine :) Hopefully she will be able to go home tomorrow!

Here she is on day 1. Pretty cherry, but I think she was just in so much pain she had no idea what was going on.

Day 2 she is using her special straw to suck out the yuck in her throat. Sick.

Our dad reached an unexpected level of boredom while chillin at the hospital and asked to listen to some Hip Hop music. As it turns out he liked it and says he understands (a little) why we listen to this stuff. His favorite was "Too Hot" by Swollen Members and he got ants in his pants and started dancing a jig! I have never seen dad moving like this but it was great!!! Da brotha can throw it down. I think he was trying to krump haha. Check him out. Sorry there is no sound... Just listen to "Too Hot" on the playlist to get inside his head :)

I was given the obvious job of doing Luca's hair. As it turns out I cannot french braid in any form, and was fired!

Day 3 Emmy is so sick of being in the hospital she will hardly look at me, but thank goodness for beach day in the pediatrics unit and for Alisen (Emmy's friend) who has entertained me with her fabulous hula-hooping skills!

I think my my mom and my dad are pretty amazing for missing work and sitting in the hospital with Emmy for so many days. Family is the best :)
